Hey girl, Love the cake. You did an amazing job!! I have a little trick for you that a cake decorator friend of mine told me about. Not sure if I have told you about this before. Use Viva paper towels to smooth out the icing. Since Viva does not have any design on them they don't stick to the cake and will not leave anything but a smooth surface. I let my frosting set for a few minutes until it gets a film on it and then it works great. I do that to flowers or anything I pipe onto the cake. You can smooth it as much or as little as you want. Works like a charm!
